A1 Road Skills International
All A1 Road Skills Fleet and Corporate trainers are accredited and fully qualified to the very high standards and expectations of the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and hold the title of Approved Driving Instructor. All are regularly re-assessed through the DSA Check Test proceedure to ensure that they maintain this high standard at all times. Additionally, all are further qualified to a higher standard and are holders of the Fleet Trainer Diploma.
Our on-road specialist driver training conforms completely with the elements of 'Roadcraft', the Police Drivers Manual and the content of our courses are all based on the same courses provided to police drivers and which are accredited by the UK Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).
'Roadcraft', the highly demanding standard to which all police drivers are trained, was first introduced during the 1950's having been designed by famous racing drivers of the time to try and reduce the high levels of accidents being experienced by untrained police drivers responding to incidents at high speed. The 'system' has been through several revamps but remains largely unchanged to this day, demonstrating how good the original principle was. It is the benchmark used by several motoring organisations today such as the Institute of Advanced Motorists, RoSPA and DIAmond.
Modern day police cars may well have changed but the high standards expected of all police drivers and motorcyclists remains the same and it is the envy of many other motorists who care about their safety and the safety of other road users. All our specialist driving instructors in addition to the qualifications previously mentioned are also ex-police driving instructors with many specialist driving skills which ensure that the training you book with A1 Road Skills International is the best available anywhere.
